Hey I'm Charlotte and welcome to my website. I am excited about sharing with you the latest hair and beauty tips, tricks, hacks and honest opinions about beauty standards or what I like to call hair and beauty politics in the black community.

My hair and beauty tips are from my prospective as being a proud natural hair champion that indulges in wearing makeup. I am natural in the sense I don't use perms on my hair and as an aside, I also use minimal heat on my hair. If you want to rock your natural hair and don't know where to start, then this website is a good start for your hair and beauty journey to begin.

Going through my own journey of embracing my natural hair, I continually challenge my own views about colourism, texturism and featurism. Its important to me that all black women feel beautiful and confident in their own skin; part of that journey is having difficult conversations about the beauty standards in the black community.

I want this website to be a portal for black people, the mothers and fathers of black / mixed children and our allies to be better educated about hair care, beauty and the "isms" in the black community. I hope by accessing this website, you begin to understand some of the ups, downs and navigations of black women or have a better insight to your own struggles.
